Parents have faced the additional challenge of having to homeschool their children in the wake of the pandemic. Efficiently filtered air and adequate ventilation was of paramount concern with families sharing enclosed spaces and breathing the same air. In 2022, the rise of new, highly contagious strains of the virus have made this even more important. In the midst of tight lockdowns and virtual schooling, a father of two kids, Keith Woolard, Regional Product Manager at Camfil's location in Washington NC, picked up a City M air purifier, which was primarily being used in commercial establishments at the time.

Watch this real case study to understand why this father of two kids chose a pharmaceutical-grade Absolute® HEPA filter. Due to the great success the City M had during a series of household tests, Camfil engineers decided to offer the Ferrari of air purifiers to households, small businesses, and schools.

The U.S. climate bill, along with a parallel initiative in Europe, could reshape global energy. Plug Power, Sunrun, and other companies could make the most of the new opportunities in renewables.

The attractions of electric vehicles have been magnetic in 2022. Now, there is legislation headed toward the home stretch that will give EVs not only new legitimacy in the eyes of the auto market, but potentially lucrative perks to automakers and consumers who decide to bet on electric vehicles as their chosen mode of transportation -- and investment. "This climate spending includes $60 billion for solar panel and wind turbine manufacturing (and $30 billion in credits for new projects), $60 billion for disadvantaged communities that bear the brunt of climate impacts, $27 billion for clean tech R&D, $20 billion to reduce agricultural emissions, $5 billion for forest conservation, $4 billion for drought funding in Western states, new battery manufacturing credits and many more climate-related priorities," EV site Elektrek reports.

The industry is developing small, modular reactors that could one day be built largely in factories. Duke Energy’s CEO likes the idea.

Here's what buyers of new and pre-owned Tesla, Ford, Hyundai and other EVs need to know as Congress has passed the Inflation Reduction Act.

The stock market sell-off has led to declining prices in excellent and poor companies alike. When uncertainty is high, it can be comforting to fall back on fundamentals. One tried and true long-term strategy is to invest in Dividend Aristocrats, which are S&P 500 components that have paid and raised their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years.

LONDON (Reuters) -Britain officially declared a drought in parts of England on Friday as households faced new curbs on water usage during a prolonged period of hot and dry weather that has kindled wildfires and tested infrastructure. The drought, the first in England since 2018, means that water companies will step up efforts to manage the impact of dry weather on farmers and the environment, including by managing water to protect supplies, the Environment Agency said. "All water companies have reassured us that essential supplies are still safe, and we have made it clear it is their duty to maintain those supplies," Water Minister Steve Double said, following a meeting of the National Drought Group.

A slowly brewing area of low pressure over the western Gulf of Mexico not only has the potential to evolve into a tropical depression and storm -- potentially becoming the fourth of the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season -- as it drifts toward the Texas coast, but it is also likely to bring both much-needed rain and the risk of flash flooding as it pushes inland later this weekend, AccuWeather meteorologists warn. The same disturbance may go on to bring a new round of flash flooding to the southwest

NHC is giving an area of disturbed weather in the Gulf a low chance of development. While it remains very disorganized, heavy rain is still in the forecast across parts of Texas this weekend.

Miners will struggle to expand operations in the United States in record time to meet a deadline for sourcing key minerals domestically or from select countries as set out by a bill likely to be passed on Friday, companies and industry watchers said. The requirement is part of a sweeping bill that includes climate and clean energy policies and rules on electric vehicle (EV) battery materials such as cobalt, lithium, nickel and graphite. The U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote nL1N2ZJ02X on the measure Friday.

First Solar stock edged higher Thursday after an analyst upgraded shares of the solar-panel manufacturer after the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act. The Inflation Reduction Act was passed in the Senate on Sunday; the climate and tax package could unlock $370 billion in funding for the clean-energy industry. KeyBanc analyst Sophie Karp said in a research note that the bill’s passage “translated into substantial enthusiasm” around the solar energy space, which she thinks is justified and will continue.
