Manhart MH3 GTR keeps controversial grille but gets 478 kW

To put it in context, Manhart has given the one-off MH3 GTR 103 kW more than the standard 375 kW in stock M3 Competition guise. The outside includes a subtly tweaked aesthetic to match the ominous performance upgrade underneath.

Starting on the familiar looking exterior, Manhart has finished the MH3 GTR in dark grey with a lighter shade of racing stripes on each facade of the performance sedan. New carbon parts are installed on the lower extremities of the BMW while a rear lip spoiler sits atop the boot.

All four corners are filled with aftermarket Manhart rims measuring 9×20 at the front and a considerably wider 10,5×20 at the rear. Colour on these is customisable according to customer wishes but these are finished in satin black. Putting the impressive power upgrade down onto the ground is Michelin rubber.

The interior only receives a pair of Recaro Podium seats with the Manhart logo embossed onto the headrest but pièce de résistance to this German tuned creation is its massive power increase under the bonnet.

Courtesy of Manhart’s MHtronik auxiliary control unit, the S58 3,0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six has had its standard power figure of 375 kW bumped all the way up to 478 kW – a whopping improvement of 103 kW. Torque is upped from 650 N.m all the way to 800 N.m which should equip the sedan with even more formidable acceleration than before. There are a raft of other upgrades to the BMW too which include a stainless steel exhaust system with valve control and quad-100 mm diameter tips.

Manhart can also do an Otto particulate filter delete with 200-cell catalytic converters, sport downpipes with 300-cell catalytic converters, or a racing setup without cats although this would not pass regulation for road use in its home country.

The MH3 GTR has replaced the standard suspension with Manhart Variant 4 coilovers that employ KW components. A non-adjustable setup can be specified by buyers with an H&R lowering kit. Surprisingly, the brakes are stock on this one-off but Manhart can beef those up too.

No pricing on the MH3 GTR is available on the Manhart website but we can’t imagine this Bavarian sedan, turned up to eleven, is what we would consider cheap.
